This Historical Fiction book was one that I cannot put down. It’s fast paced, it was very hard at times to put down. I found myself sitting back and reflecting after each chapter to help soak it all in.
There were scenes that were gruesome and graphic with incidences like murder. This helped to create an unexpected and exciting suspenseful read.
Even thought it is the 19th book in the series, it was very easy to get connected to the characters and plot. I will most likely start from the beginning to understand how the event came to be.
The setting is in Kenya, Africa. Slaves from India work for British white landowners. This could be a sensitive topic that should be noted before reading. While it can be sensitive, it is still an enjoyable book.
