After reading this new novel "Legacy of War" by Wilbur Smith I found myself thinking and rethinking about the storyline. It is not a novel that leaves your memory easily. The reader follows the saga of the Courtney family as they battle for freedom. This is a novel filled with action and paclked with suspense. Having survived the brutality of the Hitler regime Saffron and Gerhard attempt to make and develop a new future. This peaceful existence is threatened by Gerhard's Nazi brother, Konrad. Konrad is an evil and diabolical character who threatens to destroy their future. As rebellion is beginning to take place in Kenya, the last outcrop of the British Empire, violence threatens the Courtney family. The two brothers are caught up in a battle for the freedom of their country. As a historical novelist Smith always excels and does not disappoint.
