One of the main characters in this book is a high functioning autistic woman and she is very successful, wealthy and brilliant. She and her parents feel the only thing missing from her life is love. This could be a great novel but I feel Stella seems forced as a character..
Hoang states she herself is autistic so writing about Stella was easy. But why did she make Stella seem so desperate? Suddenly some man was able to just “change” how she experiences the world, touch doesn’t bother her and she’s not hypersensitive anymore? And the plot was too unrealistic. I wanted to like this book because I adored The Bride Test!
Of note, in this series, there’s no need to read the books in order in my opinion, the other characters only make some appearances that solidify their importance in the family dynamics but change the order of the story. Sounds like a decent story..
