How do I write this review knowing full well that I do not typically read romance novels. Actually scratch that, I do not typically ready steamy romance novels. I don't care for books in which the sex or anticipation of sex drives the novel but I picked this up, even preordered it, because I didn't completely read the synopsis and because it has a lead Asian/mixed race male protagonist.

That said, hold onto your hats, there's a lot of steamy sex- fortunately, consented.

What I do like about this book:

-Stella, a female protagonist who is smart but a little off balance in social interactions.
-male protagonist (is it Brandon? I forget) who is apparently sexy but needs reassurance.
-Vietnamese culture that was not made as "other" or "exotic" but just a part of the story.

Overall, likable, a check-it-out-of-the-library-type book. Just not for me and has cemented that no matter how different a book touts itself to be it still falls into a formulaic structure.
