When I went onto bookish first and saw this book being offered, I was a little hesitant to even read the excerpt provided. I'm always nervous to read a book where the characters have mental illness simply because it can be portrayed very poorly. This book could have been yet another cliché romance book but it turned out to be something completely unique.

This is the first book that I have read by Helen Hoang and it definitely will not be my last. Helen was able to create something unique, beautiful, and sexy. The characters were all different and nothing that I expected. Stella was a strong woman who didn't live by her label. I loved that she is on the autism spectrum & I loved that it didn't define her. The author was able to bring a disorder into the light & show the strengths and weaknesses that it can create. It was completely realistic which I loved. Michael was a fun and interesting character as well and I couldn't help but cheer him on throughout the book.

The plot was fun and quirky and I loved the twists and turns that were there. Not only did I like the plot, I loved the writing style. The writing went above and beyond my expectations, I simply loved it. The writing style flowed really well and I never wanted to put the book down. This is the first book that I have read by Helen Hoang and it will not be my last. She was able to create characters that were likable, lovable, and hilarious. Each character had their moments and I simply loved the entire book.
