Stella Lang is good at math and bad at relationships. She wants to get this figured out and uses her math techniques to figure out kissing - enter Michael Phan. When you have a contrived construct - woman hires escort to learn about relationships and, zero spoiler alert, they start to fall for each other - the construct is the whole problem. I guess lots of movies and books have this type of thing, so whatever. In fact lots of people love these tropes and the romance genre uses a bunch - this one is the fake dating one. So, it's going to be predictable. If you are ok with that and you are looking for comfort, then this could be a great read for you. The nice thing about this book is that there are diverse people in the story - neurological as well as cultural. It's always great to read #ownvoices novels since that's what reading is all about. I love learning about different perspectives and this story does deliver. Easy pool side read!
