He got away with it...
Why did this book get so many high reviews!? Our protagonist is sexually harassed by a coworker, right outside their work, and no one says anything or reports it because it's not a big deal? Even though he was her former crush, he touched and kissed her without consent and made her feel super uncomfortable. THEN, she goes out on a date with him to give him a second chance. He does get a black eye, but then we find out he's moved on to liking another coworker. That's not cute, that's disgusting.
I liked that the author included a neurodiverse protagonist, but that seemed to be one of the few things her whole family and coworkers focused on. It was portrayed as a disability, not a difference or uniqueness, which seemed like an outdated attitude.
2 stars for the inclusion and diversity of the characters, but this will be the first and last book from the author I read.
