This book was one of my favorite books of 2018! The only other book I’ve seen that has an autistic main character is The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. Opening these characters to other genres is very important. But what is even more important is that the main character with autism is a woman. The author is also a woman on the spectrum which is not something we see and she is a woman of color. The characters are relatable and sympathetic. There were times when I felt exactly what each character was going through. Especially when it came to sensory overload. The writing is very engaging and crafted well. The plot moved forward at a good pace and wasn’t as predictable as some romances are. I finished it in 8 hours.
