I've been hearing a lot about this book, and the first two chapters seem very promising. Stella's insecurity is totally relatable, and I already want to know more about Michael's past and his motivations for becoming an escort. While we don't get a traditional meet-cute since Stella paid Michael to meet her, the chemistry between them is real. I also love that the story has diverse characters that are underrepresented in romance novels - Stella has Aspergers, while Michael has Vietnamese and Swedish heritage.

I hope Stella's mom gets less annoying, though, and learns to accept her daughter for who she is, not who she apparently wants her to be. I was kind of uncomfortable reading their interactions, which I suppose is the point as it makes Stella more sympathetic and it's sadly probably pretty accurate as to how many parents treat their Aspie kids. (Be better, people!)
