Yes! This is everything I wanted from a contemporary romance! I’ve now read this book twice and both times I’ve been so enamored with all of the characters. They feel so well developed and flushed out! Stella is earnest and kind. She is working through her life experiences and decides to take things into her own hands rather than settle and wait. Michael is so endearing. He has a lot of baggage to wade through with his family and his self image.

There are some hilariously charming scenes between Stella and Michael. But it never feels insensitive. If anything, it feels like romanticizing quirks. And that can be a bit unrealistic, but at the same time, romance books are in the business of romanticizing the unrealistic and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I will definitely search for more books about main characters that are neurodivergent.
