In short, you could say that The Kids Quotient is a modern-day, gender-swapped take on Pretty Woman. In an attempt to become more comfortable with sexual encounters, Stella hires Michael, a male escort, to teach her the ropes so that she would be more open to romantic relationships.

Stella has difficulty with both sex and romance because she had Aspberger’s. There are certain things that make her uncomfortable and there are social cues she tries her hardest to understand. This representation is so important and is OwnVoices (the author is on the spectrum!)

A sexy book is even sexier when consent is addressed. Michael is kind, gentle, and responsive to Stella’s every move and reaction, which is something she hasn’t experienced in previous encounters and makes all the difference.

I thought there was some unnecessary drama just because, but other than that it is a quick, fun, and sweet book that is well-worth a read!
