Helen Hoang’s debut novel knocks it completely out of the park. In this fresh and wonderful romance a woman with Asperger’s hires an escort to help her practice her social skills. Meddling mothers, family responsibilities, debt, labels and insecurities all make for an interesting storyline in which the lines between personal and professional are bound to be crossed. Falling in love with each other ultimately teaches both Michael and Stella how to accept themselves just the way they are.
I loved absolutely everything about this book beginning with the title and the adorable cover. The blurb completely drew me in and Hoang’s exquisite writing wouldn’t let me go. Stella and Michael are both real and relatable characters that immediately capture your heart and their journey left me smiling with all the feels. This will definitely be a book that I continue to reread and I’m so excited to see what’s to come in The Bride Test!
