This was such an interesting fantasy to get lost in.

This chunker of a fantasy novel was really enjoyable. I gave it a 3 because it was a decent start to an epic tale. The author takes some risky decisions with the characters and I truly think it worked out well. I was invested into the characters, the plot, and all the unique twists and turns that took place. The prose was eloquent and the pace of the novel was to be expected. Due to it being a longer book, I did find myself slightly distracted through several chapters, which is why my rating isn’t a 4 or 5. I feel like with some more editing and slimming this book would have been a masterpiece. However, with that said, I don’t think you should miss out on this book since I had some distractions.
