I’m already going into this expecting something awesome, due to Brandon Sanderson praising it. But I was definitely not disappointed in the first look I read!
I’m a huge fantasy and sci-fi fan and right off the bat we are dropped into a world where the king has been killed and our main character is doing his very best to make enough money to survive. I want to know why/how the magic system works in this universe and how the main character relates to it all.
The writing style was super clean and easy to follow, I think sometimes with fantasy it can get too complicated right of the bat. But this one definitely seemed like it was really well written and was set to explain the setting.
I’ve never read any of this author’s books before but after reading these first sixteen pages I’m intrigued to see what else they have written about.
