Now, I love long books because I can't stand leaving my favorite characters, but even I was a little intimidated when I first started to read this. I was pleasantly surprised when I seemed to woosh by the whole book, and before I knew it, it was over. When I first saw the idea of memories as currency, I frowned a bit, thinking it was a little too similar to book that I had previously read, The Memory Thief by Lauren Mansy. But as I read more, I felt became more and more invested in this different world of royalty and magic. Although both books had similar ideas, the execution was different, making them both beautiful in their own ways. I loved going along with Michael and seeing his development. I am so so glad that this is only the beginning of a series because I'm not ready to let go of this world just yet.
