When I saw that Brandon Sanderson had endorsed this book, I entered the contest without really doing much research into the plot! This book is huge, which is right up my alley, and when I began reading, I was completely swept away into a vibrant, diverse fantasy world definitely worthy of my attention.
This book moves somewhat slowly, building up to a second half that is absolutely riveting! I loved the unique magic system--the price of magic in particular--, the worldbuilding was so interesting, and though it was a bit hard for me to get inside of the MC's head, I ultimately felt myself swept away by a fantastic story.
I cannot wait for the second book to hit shelves! I'll be keeping an eye out for sure.
