Kingdom of Liars is a pretty good debut

This book is definitely my favorite type of genre and I have rarely found a book that I did not like. I was first drawn in by the cover (which is gorgeous) and how it tells its own story.

I really enjoyed Kingdom of Liars with its Fabricators ( I hope we get into more detail about how they work in the next book) and shattered moon (which I really want to know how it got shattered since that was only alluded to in the story). For a debut, it is pretty good.

Michael Kingman, whose story this is, spends most of the book trying to find out the truth about whether his father actually is innocent or guilty of killing the prince so many years ago. His journey was exciting though I did get a little tired about how the reason that he made so many choices was that he was a Kingman and that is what Kingman did. I guess it is a good thing to be loyal to your family but I don't think that everything you do should be because you are a part of it. I kinda wished he would take after his brother and sister sometimes but then that would ruin the plot.

Since this is the first book in a series, the end was left pretty wide open and is definitely not a standalone. I would probably keep reading it because I really want to find out what happens with the Kingdom of Hollows and whether Michael can get to the bottom of the whole sordid mess.
