I received The Kingdom of Liars ARC as a free review copy from the publisher. I really wanted to like The Kingdom of Liars, but I struggled to really care about any of the characters. I got about halfway through, but I had to put it down. The plot meandered and it made me wonder which plot line was the main one, since none of them felt critical to the characters. It was like the author had so many ideas, but he didn't take the time to flesh each of them out. I also was very confused about the characters' back stories. I guess the main character's dad killed someone important, but I guess it was a good thing, so people shouldn't hate them. But they were very hated. And yet they had a status that protected them so that no one could attempt to kill them? It made no sense to me.
