At first sight, my thought was “oh my gosh that’s a large book to get thru in 2 weeks or so”....the cover is attractive as well. I like the fact that the arc was paperback and not hardcover, made it easier to handle being a thick book.
At first this book was quite wishy-washy trying to get into it. It wasn’t a fast paced beginning. I enjoyed the way the author introduced us to Michael Kingman, kind of a reverse psychology tact. It helped grab you initially. As we met the characters and family members of the Kingman family, we grow more and more intrigued by the outcome of the story. Gwen is seemingly a saint until an unexpected turn of events, and she threatened a prince! The Corrupt Prince had it coming, trust me when I say that. Read the book and you will likely feel the same way! There is so much more I could say, but there’s a lot in this book, and spoiling it would ruin the joy of reading it!
