Another one that knocked it out of the park from BookishReads.
There have been a ton of magical systems created and non of them have hit me as hard as this one. The idea of memories being offered up for power is truly terrifying to me. It also creates a very interesting foil to memory loss in the real world and is something I am going to be pondering for some time.
This magic system also makes it so the otherwise traditional aspects of this story seem refreshed. A traitor protagonist with a heart of gold is nothing new but in the light of this world, and magic system, there are so many questions for the reader to consider! Love the book.
For a first time author, this is quite the debut and I am really excited to see where the story goes from here.
