Disappointed
I wanted to fall in love with this book. This is Nick Martell's first debut and I was really rooting for him. The cover is stunning. Had I not received an ARC of this book I still would have read it.
The Kingdom of Liars takes place in a world with 2 moons. One moon has been broken into 7 pieces and debris regularly falls upon the cities below.
Unfortunately although that concept could have led to future development of a new and exciting world there was very little world building to really allow me to get attached to any of it.
Character development was there but I still was not attached enough to the characters and struggled to finish.
This book set a decent foundation for the sequel. There is so much potential here.
