In the first line of this book we find out what the character is on trial for killing the King. Well I'm already hooked. Regicide in the first line is a clear indicator of a book that should not be missed. I have no idea how this setting works but I want to know. There's magic but there's alsoevery indicator that we've already passed the gunpowder age and that's not something we normally see in fantasy so I'm already there for that. in only 12 pages or so I am hooked and I want to know what's going to happen next so this book is definitely going on my list. It's a page-turner. It has great readability without being over simplified. Great writing and I'm sure it will be a great read.
