"In a world where memory is the coin that pays for magic, Michael knows something is there in the hot white emptiness of his mind" calls to mind the recently acclaimed A Memory Called Empire by Arkady Martine. Incorporating memory as a political tool and currency was such an interesting plot device that allowed for satisfying and surprising twists and character arcs - I hope to see more of that in Kingdom of Liars!
