Kings, Guards--Michael Flyman beats them all.

A disgraced citizen. A despotic government. Nick Martell has woven the colorful elements of a kingdom fantasy into a realistic world where justice is ill-received and men like Michael Kingman serve the people--at any cost, even life. Upon reading the first line, I was initially skeptical of the medieval contours and ostensibly flat dialogue. Thankfully, the action climbed as time went on, revealing a cast that was not only complex but also endearing in a cynical, edgy-teen sort of way. I am begging to see where the story goes and what Mr. Martell will do with this one-of-kind world.
