Intrigued by memory magic
Story is framed by the prologue, in which Michael Kingman is on trial for regicide. Then recounts his story, and I'm expecting that when he again gets up to the trial, there will be some sort of twist. Feel the stakes for sure, but idk if I like being dumped with suspense and tension that way. Anywho, the set-up is interesting, with references to lore and a government distorted history. Stylistically, I wasn't super into the narrative, but I get grumpy when it comes to 1st person.
