What I liked about the excerpt I read was the intriguing narrative - seemingly to break the fourth wall and Michael's voice is directly aimed at the reader. The events that occur in the prologue and the first chapter open up enough questions to pique my interest, but not too many that I'm left dreading the resolution. The characterisation of Michael is also good so far, and even though he is clearly a con, I could feel myself already beginning to warm to him! I definitely would love to read more and find out what happens and how the events in the prologue came to be.
