I wasn't expecting much, but with all the information being held from the audience, I am slightly interested in seeing what happened. Michael interests me as I could see him being a bit of an unreliable narrator possibly, as he talks very vaguely of his family and their apparently very important history. Also, the world-building seems either interesting or lazy as I can see"high fantasy but with guns" going either way.
