I really like that this book is so unexpected. I cant tell where the story will go next but many parts of the first two chapters hint at many different ways it could slide. The story moves along easily without me having to try and put people and names and places together. Although I feel like many of the things that are said discreetly may play a part in the story later.
This story is also hard for me to place what time frame or universe it takes place in. The use of old guns and streetlamps makes me think of an older time. But the people have magic or at least some nobles do.
I am very interested to see what comes next and what adventures or death awaits Michael.
