Dramatic story, cool fantasy world!

I love when books drop me right in to a dramatic moment from the first line. Here, it's a trial for regicide by an upstanding citizen. I appreciate the immediate move to give some history/background so that we understand the fantasy world that we're in. And it was super interesting to know the end of the story (or so we think!) in the prologue and then go back to the beginning and hear him tell the whole tale -- I bet we are still surprised though, and the story does not end with his execution!
