The concept is unique and interesting but the writing style didn't flow well for me. There were too many separate clauses, phrases separated by commas or em dashes. I don't know if this is silly, but the main character's name being Michael Kingman vs the other characters having more unusual names was also a bit off-putting. I also didn't really take to him. I like the cover design but I'm not a fan of the color palette.
