The blurb sounded really interesting but none of that was in the little snippet I read. No mention of memories being taken in exchange for magic and you would think it would be as it's the whole basis of their society. Second, the writing felt immature. There was a lot going on but no explanations. All these terms were used and I wasn't sure what they meant. I feel like the author was trying to avoid an info dump, but I was just left feeling lost instead. Who are the Fabricators? There's a falling moon? we're not on Earth? Why are they called Kingman if they're not kings? Also, I didn't like how we were just thrown into the story. Sure, I would've been fine with it if there were explanations, but it was just not executed well.
