The story does not stand out as a fantasy story.The main character voice and world feels so typical to fantasy. Why are we calling brown/black people in fantasy savages (last week I read a fantasy story that did the same thing) and also slavery is a thing for them too...yeah it is seen as something bad but ummm....I don't like/side eyeing it.
I don't like the info dump and I feel I am being told a lot but not shown enough. I'm not made to care enough.
