In this brilliant debut fantasy, a story of secrets, rebellion, and murder are shattering the Hollows, where magic costs memory to use, and only the son of the kingdom’s despised traitor holds the truth.

The Kingdom of Liars is the incredible upcoming debut by Nick Martell.

This is one book that certainly starts off with an intriguing storyline. It begins with Michael Kingman, our main protagonist, who is on trial for the murder of the king. What a way to start a story! I mean, if that doesn’t hook a reader in, I don’t know what will! As the tale unfolds we slowly begin to discover what has brought Michael to this point.

Right from the opening first chapter we are catapult into the critical events, and the circumstances that has befallen a once thriving place the land of Hallow, now facing ruination. With a rebellion hatching in the wind caused by the repression of the citizens, by the the Royalty’s ruling High Nobles.

In a world where the currency for magical power is one’s memories, a young man named Michael senses a crucial secret about his past, lurking in his barren mind. Michael, his sister Gwen, and their friends are petty criminals and outcasts living on the streets of the Hollows.
