Kingdom of Exiles created a beautiful soft magic system that allows you to truly get sucked into the story. After reading the first impressions, I found myself wanting to continue with the story. In a fantasy sense, I feel like this book will do phenomenally. As for romance though, I felt it was lacking in some aspects (keep in mind I only read the first look). I enjoy the concept of the story, assassin v. target. But I felt like there were some interactions that didn't seem genuine to the character the author was building up to. So in that aspect, it fell a bit short for me and the beginning of the romance arc did not seem genuine. Overall though I give it a four star rating because all-in-all, I'd recommend this book to others and will probably be adding it to my bookshelf at a later date.
