In a world full of romantic fantasy, Kingdom of Exiles truly stands out. I mean, is there anything better than someone who can charm magical beasts? I think not.

Our story starts off with our protagonists having to go against the societal norms by selling one of her beasts (don't worry, this is not a spoiler) and having to face the consequences for her actions. Along the way, we meet the assassin assigned to kill her. Of course, things are not what they first appear and sooner, rather than later, the reader is treated to a world of twists, turns, sexiness, and more questions than there are answers.

Overall I give this book a 4.5 out of 5. There is definitely some run of the mill romance and fantasy elements here but because the concept of a beast charmer and the well-done world building, it is perfectly acceptable. The reason why I could not give this book a whole 5 has to do with the fact that even though I enjoyed this book on an entertainment level, it did not leave a huge impact with me. I did not try to unravel the plot for additional information or wonder how this book might be an allegory for something else. It is a fun read and an entertaining one and if you are looking for something new in the fantasy/romance genre I highly suggest picking it up.
