Better late than never
I’m not giving this three stars because I finally received the book after months of waiting, but I AM giving it three stars because it just did not appeal to me.
It started off okay, slow building of the scenery and characters but I had hopes of it progressing.
Mid-way through the book however I realized that I wasn’t even really interested in what I was reading. My thoughts initially were “maybe I’m thinking too much as adult and not a middle schooler” so I actually gave the book to my 14 year old daughter and suggested she give it a go.
She loves all genres of book and was excited to give it a go.
Well, it was a flop for her. She said was it was too slow and didn’t grab her attention like other books do. The “hook” just wasn’t there for her.
SO…I tried again. I sat down and attempted to re-read it. I finished it and can’t say that it gets better but I’m glad it ended.
