I absolutely loved, first of all, the BIOPIC representation in this book. There are not many middle grades book with a black or brown protagonist, so it is great to see that this author is representing that culture. I loved the characters from the first page, and the mystery that they are trying to solve is age appropriate, for the middle grades. Throw in a bit of magic, and this book is a fabulous journey!
