I'm not usually a middle-grade reader, but as soon as it got too the part with the glowing letter and the curiously-destroyed drone, I was immediately intrigued. Those two events along with Keynan's parents' strange reactions to the letter made me all the more excited to finish reading the rest of the book to uncover the mystery! I also love the highlight on a BIPOC main character (+ more, judging by the cover) and the backdrop of a prestigious school that is undoubtedly full of secrets.

Lastly, I think the cover is perfect for a middle-grade audience. It tells the audience to expect LOTS of magical adventures in haunting places with a great trio of friends.
