Second: Keynan's voice comes in strong from the first page. I like the direction that the magic system is going in, although I'm not sure how to feel about the school at this point. This seems like a great book for middle grade readers, especially those with an interest in poetry. The implication that words have literal power in this world seems like an interesting hook!
