I was REALLY looking forward to this first look on the heels of The Marvellers, but it just wasn't doing it for me. I couldn't suspend my disbelief. The rhyming and narrative voice just kept me from getting sucked in. I can see this doing well with a middle grade audience, but I don't think it lives up to the caliber of The Marvellers at all. I wouldn't read more to find out what happens next. The cover art is interesting and compelling.
