As someone who went to an arts school when I was growing up, I wish it was like this. I love how, in the beginning, we are thrown into something that Keynan lives, which is poetry. When we look at poetry, it is shown as being feminine, but I love that we have a young boy express himself through poetry and words. It breaks down this notion of what's feminine and masculine. Also, Keynan is a funny character indeed, and I'm sure he will be a wonderful protagonist for what I hope will be a trilogy. When we look at the cover, I love that we're getting three dark-skinned protagonists; it's rarely seen, and it's nice for people to be seen, and this cover does just that. It also sucks you into the mystery and highly complex world that will draw us in. I also love that we get to see how the author uses descriptions to help create this world. We also get to see that in the world created, we have some of these great moments that we get to love for these characters. I'm super excited to see where this story goes when it officially comes out.
