An Interesting Middle-Grade Magical School Story

Right away I thought the writing was a bit boring, but after I got used to all the cheesy rhymes and the way Keynan narrates as a wordsmith, it got better. The first look wasn't the most interesting thing, but I feel the story will get much better once they actually arrive at the school and some of the magic lore gets explained. I think that it would be worth reading, but I can already tell that I'm not going to fall in love with this book. Seems like an interesting premise, though!
