At the beginning of the book, I was having a hard time making any dent in my reading. I don’t know if I was struggling with the beginning of the story itself or if I was just not in the mood for reading. Lol! Anyway, I was determined to stick with it and I’m so glad I did! Judge Joe is married, to a much younger woman, Jeanie. He’s the stepdad to her daughter Ryder and father to his own daughter, Maya. When Judge passes away, he leaves behind three devastated and in a way, angry women. Maya and Ryder are thick as thieves but Jeanie and Maya are always at each other’s throats! When Jeanie decides to drown her sorrows and stress in alcohol things take a turn for the worst. But with determination Maya gets Jeanie some help and as they all learn more about themselves and each other, they slowly start to heal. And they start to love and respect one another.

I won’t lie, the last few pages I teared up but it was happy tears. A definite must read!
