Yes, they are the Judge's girls, but these three Georgia firepowers are also their own women. There's a contrast/battle throughout the book of each of these three women needing themselves and then needing each other. You want to route for them online to win their battles, but you also want to route for them together to win the biggest war and find love for each other at the end of the day.

I love that Harris took this novel and turned a broken disjointed family into a FAMILY - even if not built from your typical family roles. It gives a glimmer of hope to so many families today.

Each woman, in her own fight, has to first come to terms with how strong of a woman she is on her own before she's willing to accept the other. Though, simultaneously, there is also each learning that they need the other despite their strength. Reliance is not weakness but a sweeter gift of a greater family here.
