I think this book opens up the skeletons in the closet, it shows characters honestly and touches on moments and topics that are real and hit core emotions and topics. When teenagers act up and reasoning behind their behaviors triggers emotions and that it all to often can be it's own cry for help. When substance abuse touches a family, it can unravel it to the core or it can bring about truth and emotions that the abuse tried to hid and subside. When differences become the tie that binds you, hardship can become the embrace for reality needed. The Judge left them with his ruling, however while the outside world appears one way the inside world appears another.
