Judge's Girls is about family drama. I didn't expect heavy topics from this book initially––grief, addiction, racism, women equality, childhood trauma, and abusive relationships, to name a few. The book cover didn't give me those hints at all, but it is a heartwarming novel. It sparks hope, second chance, and forgiveness.

There were three different perspectives, and they were all the judge's girls: the judge's second wife, stepdaughter, and biological daughter. They inherited a house from the judge, and they needed to share it. The stepmother and her stepdaughter have a "bad blood" relationship while her daughter was the only one who could communicate between them.

Sharina Harris, the author, has an easy-to-follow writing style. I could pick up quickly where I left off without having too much trouble to remember. I enjoyed the family saga. I loved that this is all about the girls, and the boys were the story's secondary focus. I am not a fan of the book cover because it didn't match the story's vibe, but I'm being judgy at this point. So don't judge a book by its cover!
