This type of family drama isn't a genre I'm normally drawn to, but the premise intrigued me enough to read the excerpt. The writing is engaging. It's an easy story to fall into. I didn't find the characters all that likable, and I'm not sure how long I'd endure all the petty drama. I imagine there will be a lot of emotional growth as the story progresses, which could make for a profound read.
