Contrary to the bright and cheery cover, Judge's Girls starts off on a depressing note--with a funeral. The subsequent chapters follow the main characters Maya and Ryder as they deal with the grief of losing their father, Judge Joseph Donaldson, while trying to re-adjust to a normal life. The chapters are narrated by alternating perspectives, switching between the lens of the women from Donaldson's life. The prose flows nicely and is easy to read. However, I'm not sure if this would be my cup of tea.
