This story grabbed my attention from the first sentence. I cannot wait to read more about Maya. Her character is strong and protective. When her father, a respected Black judge passes, she, her white stepmother and stepsister deal with the loss in their own way. Maya’s relationship with her half-sister is a trusting one. I cannot wait to read the story. It has heart and imteresting characters. Let’s go!
