I've only read one other book by this author but really want to read more because it was so good. This one being set in the time period that I grew up in has me very interested in all that I didn't know about what was going on at the time. The characters start out very personable and making us want to know more about them, as well as sympathize with what they are dealing with. I also like the way the cover is all gray with the little bit of color in the flag.
